This page explains how to delete your Paramatma account and the data we hold about you. Deletion is permanent — once your account is removed, your jap counts, streaks, Sangh memberships, Kundali details, and any purchases records tied to your account cannot be recovered.
1Delete From Within the App (Fastest)
The Paramatma mobile app offers self-service account deletion. From any device you are signed in on:
- Open the Paramatma app.
- Tap Profile in the bottom navigation.
- Scroll to the account section at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the prompt. Your account and associated data are removed and you are signed out.
No email round-trip and no support ticket required.
2Delete By Email (If You Cannot Access the App)
If you have lost access to your device, your account is locked, or you cannot sign in for any reason, email us and we will delete your account on your behalf.
Send a request to: info@paramatma.co.in
Subject: Account Deletion Request
Please include:
- The email address associated with your Paramatma account
- The approximate date you created the account, if you remember it
- A short confirmation that you are the account owner and wish to delete the account
For security, we verify ownership by confirming control of the registered email address before deleting. We acknowledge requests within 24 hours and complete deletion within 30 days, in line with the GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and the Indian DPDPA.
3What Gets Deleted
When your account is removed, we permanently delete:
- Your profile (name/display name, email, phone number, profile photo, preferences)
- Your devotional activity — jap counts, chosen deity and mantra, chanting sessions, streaks, and milestones
- Your Sangh memberships, invitations, and leaderboard entries tied to your account
- Your digital-detox and focus session history
- Your Kundali birth details and generated readings
- AI prompts and personalisation signals
- Authentication identifiers from Apple, Google, or email sign-in
4What We Retain (And Why)
A narrow set of records is kept after deletion only where we are legally required to or to protect against abuse:
| Data | Retention | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase confirmations (no card data) | Up to 7 years | Indian tax and accounting law |
| Marketing-suppression record | Indefinite | So we honour your opt-out if you ever re-register |
| Anonymised aggregate usage statistics | Indefinite | Service analytics — cannot identify you |
| Backups containing your data | Overwritten on a rolling basis, typically within 90 days | Standard infrastructure backup cycle |
| Records needed for an active legal claim or fraud investigation | As long as required | Legal obligation |
Subscriptions and in-app purchases (including Mudra) are billed by Apple or Google. To cancel an active subscription before deleting your account, follow Apple's or Google's cancellation instructions — deleting your Paramatma account does not automatically cancel a recurring store subscription, and unused Mudra has no cash value and is not refunded. For full retention details, see Section 10 of our Privacy Policy.
5Shared Groups and Nudges
If you participated in a Sangh, the group itself and messages or nudges already shared with other members are theirs and are not deleted when you delete your account — the same way an email you sent stays in the recipient's inbox. Your name is removed from the shared record where technically possible.
6Reactivation
We cannot reactivate a deleted account. If you change your mind after deletion, you are welcome to sign up again — you will start with a fresh, empty account.
